Members Gather In Centralia - March 2024

The first ever Western Washington Clean Cities Lunch and Learn held in Centralia on March 27th, 2024 was a resounding success. Over 25 members attended, traveling from over 10 cities in Western Washington and Northern Oregon.

Held at McMenamins Olympic Lodge in Centralia, the event attendees reaped the benefits of an experienced kitchen and cuisine and a very welcoming hotel and restaurant staff. Topics of the day began with an update on State and Federal directions of CARB Legislation, transitioned into a presentation on a real-life successful implementation of renewable diesel from a local Fleet Manager, and concluded with a Clean Cities update and seminar on the EMPOWER project.

The event offered a priceless opportunity for participants to trade updates regarding local projects, exchange perspectives, and deliberate over the obstacles encountered by their individual fleets.

The relatively small meeting room allowed for an intimate collaboration of perspectives and experiences among attendees. At times, the presentations were halted to give the members discussion in the audience the forefront. The result was a truly educative conversation constructed by Fleet Managers, Truck Shop Owners, and Energy Supply executives.

Additionally, the scheduled lunch became a great networking opportunity for many individuals, forming new relationships to further meet their organization’s needs.

This opportunity marks the beginning of numerous WWCC-focused events and outreach initiatives. Take a look at some images from the event below:
